Book fair moves on shore

While Logos Hope has been in dry dock, the book fair has remained closed since early April. Many people had asked Johan Zandbergen (Netherlands), the book fair manager, when the book fair would reopen. Although it is not possible to reopen while Logos Hope is in the shipyard, the idea of running an on shore book fair began to be formed. Johan approached the manager of a local mall and gained permission for the use of an empty unit. Two days later, after a huge effort to refurbish the unit from the team of crewmembers that will be running the store, plus an electrician and carpenter who worked on their off days, the book fair was open. “The team were exhausted but it was a good time of bonding for them,” said Johan.
