“It is a huge blessing,” said engine room storekeeper Dorine Perret (France) after a new storage system was delivered to the ship. When Dorine began working on the ship, countless spare parts for the main engine, generators and auxiliary systems were scattered across various storage rooms and workshops. “There were so many places where parts got lost and the engineers couldn’t find them. It was a mess,” she added. Now, thanks to a donor who has provided cabinets, all the parts can be stored in the correct place and labelled, saving time and money. Dorine will now begin to sort the parts into the cabinets and build up an inventory system. “I am very grateful to the donor,” she added. “This storage system makes my life so much easier. It’s like a dream.”
