One Million Visitors!

Suva, Fiji :: Doulos Hope celebrates one million visitors!

After only three years since her launch in 2023, Doulos Hope has now welcomed one million visitors on board!

As members of the public ascended the gangway, one family received a warm welcome as they stepped into the bookfair and were greeted by cheers, balloons and crewmembers in national costumes.

“It was so surprising for me because once I stepped on board, I heard people shouting and cheering and they were clapping, and I turned around and they said I was the millionth visitor!” said Amelia.

Amelia and her family were congratulated by the ship’s Director, Trizenia September (South Africa) and Captain Eymard (Philippines). The family were also presented with a voucher to spend in the bookfair and given a personal tour of the ship.

It was Amelia’s daughter who had planned the visit, having found Doulos Hope on social media. Amelia explained, “I didn’t know anything about coming today, but I had just come back home, and my daughter surprised me with the information that they were coming to the ship after lunch, so then I really wanted to join.”

Amelia and her family had never been on a ship before and enjoyed the experience. “It was a good day for us …the children especially were so happy choosing books,” she reflected.

Thank you for your support and partnership — your contribution has made this milestone possible. We hope to see many more bookfair visitors in the years to come, as we continue sharing knowledge, help and hope in every port.
