Abu Dhabi, UAE :: His Excellency Mohamed Almubarak, Department of Culture and Tourism Chairman, opened Logos Hope to the public in Abu Dhabi on the 17th of May 2023.
Logos Hope was officially opened to the public on the 17th of May 2023 by His Excellency Mohamed Almubarak, Department of Culture and Tourism Chairman. Many ambassadors and distinguished guests attended the official opening ceremony in Abu Dhabi.
Captain Ionut Vlad said, “I want to welcome you on board and thank you for welcoming the community of Logos Hope into the beautiful port city of Abu Dhabi. I am already learning and enriching my knowledge during our short time in the UAE. One of your founders said, “I will give everything I have and invest all my power for this nation and this land.” This made me realise that Logos Hope and the UAE are similar; both are rich in diversity and are founded on the idea of sacrifice. I hope we can look back on this time with joy because we all learnt from each other, and experienced growth and friendship. Bringing the ship into port is a whole team effort. It all begins with our advance preparation team and with you, all of those who make this visit possible. Thank you for being part of our team for such a time as this. We are not only welcoming you on board our ship, but also into our community and our home.”
Managing Director Edward David said, “We are delighted to celebrate the official opening with you. This is our sixth visit to Abu Dhabi, the first being Logos in 1974. We are pleased to visit your city once again, and we trust that the experience on board will be a blessing to the people of Abu Dhabi. It is our pleasure and privilege to serve the people of Abu Dhabi. We look forward to meeting you all.”

It is a fortunate coincidence to welcome you today, just a few days ahead of the 32nd Abu Dhabi International Bookfair, organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism. Logos Hope’s story is a beautiful one; a story of roaming the seas on a journey of sharing knowledge, help and hope.”
